NANCY H. MCCORD, PSY.D., PC

LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST

Individual Therapy

People come to work with me for a variety of reasons: to address painful emotions, change self-defeating behaviors, or to repair and strengthen a relationship. I am often called upon to help individuals and couples navigate a difficult transition, cope with and heal from an illness or loss, or to work through a painful or traumatic experience.  Many times clients find themselves looking back at the difficult experiences from their past or within their families of origin and they desire my help in establishing healthier patterns of relating to themselves and others. And some people, especially those in care-giving roles within family or work, seek to work with me simply as a means of self-care and personal growth.

Among the specific issues I address in my practice are:

Relationship Concerns

Difficulties with Intimacy

Transitions of Early, Mid, and Late Adulthood

Challenges related to being LGBTQIA+

Bereavement and Loss

Post-Traumatic Stress

Anxiety Disorders

Depression

Shyness or Social Anxiety

History of Abuse or Trauma
